Frankfurt, with its central position in Europe, is ideally suited as a base for all kinds of travel. For over 25 years, the AIWC has offered a travel program as a service to all AIWC members and their families. It is an easy way of getting around Germany and Europe in a short period of time, without having to plan everything on one's own or go alone. We help our members get acquainted with Germany and Europe and other areas around the World, during their stay, with a tailor-made program, in the best possible way.

Our goal: let us plan it for you to enjoy it!

Next to a common language (all trips and guided tours are done in English), the idea behind the travel program is  to enhance the group spirit amongst our members and their families. All trips are open to single members and families with or without children (and visiting relatives and friends from outside Germany).

Although the participants travel as a group, there will always be time set aside for those who would like to follow up on their own, individual program too. Also, since we travel as a group, we can benefit from economical package prices offered to groups by the agencies, with which we work.

The Travel Committee arranges:

  • Overnight trips in Germany and Europe, for up to seven days
  • Worldwide trips to other places, such as Egypt, the Middle East, China, South Africa, India, Peru, and the US, for up to two weeks
  • Accommodation in usually three- to five-star hotels (depending on the country of destination)
  • Always includes round-trip transportation

The Travel Committee offers:

  • Shopping trips, cooking schools, city tours, beach holidays, educational trips and cruises

Trips are:

  • Specifically designed for female members, such as shopping trips and cooking classes (usually outside the local school holidays)
  • Specifically designed for family groups, such as beach holidays, city visits, and cruises (usually during the various school breaks)

In an attempt to cater to all interests, we are always open for suggestions and ideas. We have recently added some new destinations to the already proposed list of tours. Be sure to always check the AIWC Website for the latest updates and destinations, as our Travel and Day Trips will most likely change according to the feedback and suggestions received from our members.

We ask that you keep in mind the following:

Day Trips

Generally, Day Trips leave from the Kronberg (Taunus) S-Bahn station. Departure and arrival times will be always advised. Book all trips early to secure a seat on the bus. The tour buses are always large and equipped with a toilet. For booking, you are required to provide the names of those taking the tour and an email confirmation of your commitment. You will then receive the bank account information for your submission of your payment, and the departure and arrival times. Should the price of the trip decrease, you will be reimbursed for the difference. A replacement is required if you cannot make the trip.

Longer Trips

Generally, Longer Trips leave at 6AM from the Kronberg Train Station (Taunus) to avoid Frankfurt traffic. If we have participants from the Siedlung, they will be picked up there. No other pick-up points are possible. Participants are allowed to park at the Kronberg Train station for the duration of the trip. Book trips early to secure a seat on the bus or flight. The tour buses are always large and equipped with a toilet. For the booking, you are required to provide the names of those taking the tour or trip and an email confirmation of your commitment. About four weeks prior to departure, you will receive a detailed itinerary, and the bank information of the agency to which to pay your deposit (usually 100€ or 200€), and the date and time of departure. Payment to the agency of the balance of the trip is due two (2) weeks prior to departure. A replacement is required if you cannot go on the bus tours. For flights and some bus tours, the travel agency will advise if a name change can be made without incurring a cancellation fee and/or loss of deposit. Should the price of the trip decrease, you will be reimbursed for the difference.

The Travel and Day Trips Chairwoman is not a travel agent, and therefore, the AIWC assumes none of the liabilities of an agency. Travel is offered as a service to our members, to help facilitate arrangements for group trips, which have been requested by our members. The travel agents listed for each trip assume all responsibilities involved in providing the accommodations and services listed.
